How To Make The Next 5 Pointz. Stop-Motion How-to Guide Included.

It’s totally possible, and it seems that a group of competent writers can get an entire building done in short order. There’s no reason to waste time trying to get the management of one building change its mind or to punish the owners. You find 10 others that agree with your goal already. The public has your attention, use it wisely. A group of Australian taggers show you exactly how easy it can be. Run around, have fun, and film it in HD. Way better than bitching on facebook, and it was just for a spray paint brand ad. We can do better. #rip5pointz

Breaking Bad Theme Out TODAY on Vinyl, Walking Dead to Follow. But Only At Hot Topic.

Just in case you needed to sample either theme of these shows, your prayers have been answered. Breaking Bad’s theme is dropped on deluxe vinyl today, with The Walking Dead theme hitting release on December 3rd. Thanks to Stoney Roads for the heads up. Mix this with your “Dance Bitch” track and you’ve got a genuine (but terrible) cable thriller mini-mix. The hilarious catch is, you have to actually go to Hot Topic to get your copy. You heard me right. Are you willing to walk into that corner of mall-based faux/alt/bubblegum punk couture to get your hands on that last record for your 2014 Halloween Mix?

MDMA Safety: Practical Medical Tips for Ravers who Choose to Use Ecstasy

The Festival Lawyer continues to drop intense amounts of knowledge about not being an idiot when it comes to rolling. Good tips, and if people ask what you’re looking at, tell them it’s something called “harm reduction.”

1.Ravers

In writing the second part of this article about “Ecstasy Safety”, I found almost as many urban myths surrounding the medical aspects of Ecstasy as there are surrounding the legal aspects of the drug.

That’s why I’m super fortunate to be able to collaborate with Stefanie Jones and Missi Wooldridge from DanceSafe.

DanceSafe is a grassroots organization that promotes health, education and safety within the rave and festival community. DanceSafe is also one of the leading groups promoting “harm reduction” policies in the rave and festival community.

“Harm Reduction” is a public health philosophy that encourages policy choices at raves and fests that reduce the risks associated with the use of MDMA.

Think of this article as a form of ”Personal Harm Reduction”. What specific, practical medical tips should ravers who choose to use Ecstasy know?

Graphene-Based Electronic Ink Creates Super-Thin Midi Controllers

There’s been a significant amount of interest swirling around Graphene (a one-atom thick carbon chain) is palpable, and when I see stuff like this, I understand why. Cambridge University has created graphene based-ink that connect to a speaker and circuit. It’s conductive such that when you touch it, it makes noise. Zero-inch thick music controllers/creators? Yes Please!

Krewella & Headhunterz Combine Forces To Fight Bullying!

Fresh off their set on Good Morning America, Krewella continues to surprise by collaborating with the Future King of Hardstyle, Headhunterz. Headhunterz has shot into the realm of global visibility with his remix of Kaskade’s “Lessons in Love” (below), and this collaboration is not to be missed.

I’m kind of amazed that they’d choose hardstyle over Krewella’s dominant genres of electro, big room house and dubstep, but I’m glad they did. Pete Tong dropped the track on his All Gone Pete Tong radio show, and it’s coming out Nov. 19th on Ultra. The anti-bullying message is something I frankly wish I had in middle school and I’d love to make sure the younglings hear this. It’s a bit cheesy, but when the bass kicks, you realize you’re in the middle of a massive hardstyle track with synth-y frosting on the top. Considering that Krewella has fought against a bunch of bullying because the group is 2/3 female, and the amount of shit Headhunterz gets for being into hardstyle, I’d imagine this is a sweet track to make. I hope it gets the exposure it deserves, and the kids who need to hear its message jump up and down listening to it.

(PS: Yes, Krewella did perform on Good Morning America, being the first EDM act to perform on American morning television. Here’s the video in case you want to know what Live for the Night sounds like before 9 AM.)

Drummer Without Forearms/Hands Kills It Covering The Foo Fighters!

Here’s a drummer with no arms. You heard me. Watch the video and be amazed. Then go kick some fucking ass, because if this guy can motivate himself to be a freaking drummer without hands or forearms, you can get to the fucking gym or drop those 500 words for NaNoWriMo. Like. Now. Go on. I’ll wait. There won’t be another post up for like 3-5hrs, so you can do something productive and come right back. I promise. We’ll keep the bass warm for you.

New Chrome Beta Tells You Which Tab Has the Auto-Start Dubstep Playing!

http://chrome.blogspot.com/2013/11/track-down-those-noisy-tabs.html

Since we all have 10,000 tabs open and sometimes we can’t tell where the good/terrible music is coming from, Chrome has done us all a solid. In the new beta, the browser will display an icon on the right side of the tab if there’s music/webcam/casting to the TV. So now, when that dumb club website that auto-plays shit-house or the pop-up hits you with some weird pop, you can shut it down with the quickness. I don’t really have any jokes or more info, just a cool thing Chome people should know about. Do it up. (Hat tip to Laughing Squid & Kimber Streams)

Lou Reed’s Final Interview – “You do what you love, or you get arrested.”

Lou Reed’s impact on the music industry and three decades of music can’t be overstated. After the news of his death came out, I started looking to see if there were any interviews that had been done recently, as opposed to some of the more classic ones his fans would be familiar with. On Nov. 8th, Lou Reed did an interview for Parrot Zik headphones, an unlikely source, but there it is. He talks about music, and his upbringing, and it’s nice to see him so vibrant and lively with the somewhat clueless interviewer. Enjoy the seven min uncut interview below and RIP my good man.
