Take Alcohol to Drink on Your Flight

CRITICAL INFORMATION FOR YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE. 😀

I was recently tipped off to one of the most unbelievable travel tricks ever. In this day and age of insane security, invasive procedures and removal of freedoms, here’s a bright ray of sunshine. With an unintentional loophole (maybe intentional with some of the drinking habits in Congress), you have the freedom to take the alcohol (or non-alcohol) of your choice on your flight with you.

I first had a discussion with a TSA supervisor about this a couple of months back. My clarifying question was in regards to the 1 qt bag of liquids you are allowed to take through security. The rule is that you can take as many containers that are less than 100ml (~3 oz) each that you can fit in a 1 qt Ziploc style bag. I then specifically asked if alcohol was allowed. The answer was a resounding “Yes!” In fact, he was enthusiastic…

Rihanna’s lipstick gave someone herpes!

Rihanna’s lipstick gave someone herpes!

So, in a weird offbeat story, it seems someone got the herp from some Rihanna-branded lipstick. Rihanna’s gig at the Barclays Center on May 7th involved the concert’s “officially endorsed” MAC Cosmetics pop-up shop. Someone who was working the booth didn’t seem to remember that you have to apply fresh lipstick to each person’s mouth to prevent the entire population that patronized the store from essentially making out. They didn’t change out in between people and supposedly a 28 year old waitress woke up with a big-ass oral herpes sore on her lip 48hrs later.

While that’s going to be fucking hard as hell to prove, it’s tragically hilarious you can go to a concert, not hook up with anyone and still get oral herpes. The woman is suing for damages and the local news media have jumped on it. Some Saturday lulz for you.

A First Hand Account of how Hipsters came to be & reviled.

http://www.reddit.com/r/TrueAskReddit/comments/1e2gbk/what_is_a_hipster_and_why_do_we_have_such_a/c9w6hvg

For all of our Brooklyn-ites & curious internationals, the hipster has come to embody a lot of what urban America/Gotham City is known for now. A random cool person breaks it down on Reddit for ya. It’s one of those gigantic posts that really puts things in perspective. For people that aren’t into reading, the tl;dr is

“There’s no one thing that defines a hipster. It came out of the punk/DIY movement, but has become a commercialized subculture that many of us who were part of the earlier counter-culture don’t recognize.”

Coming out of the anti-capitalist/DIY/post-punk movement, a lot of heads eventually got recognized as unique/authentic, and then the fashion got stole’d by richies, diluting the entire construct and making it totally against what it was started for. Now, instead of looking retro/vintage because you spent 5hrs thrifting because you reject capitalism/materialism, you spend 2 grand and look the same. Interestingly this was lampooned in both Gangnam Style (for those of us who bothered looking up the translated lyrics) and more accessibly, in Thrift Shop by Macklemore & Lewis, posted below for the approximately 4.7 people in America who still have not heard this song.

So, check it out, and next time you see em, remember, authenticity is forever and douches will always find a way to get ripped off trying to be authentic. See you on that dance floor, wear something that helps you express yourself, not some bullshit that some style-guide told you was in.

AraabMuzik Shot After Attempted Robbery

One of the true MPC jedis was shot while fending off an attempted robbery on May 2nd. He’s recovering in the hospital and will still be able to make Electric Daisy Carnival but his scheduled show in Little Neck, NY may not go down. Here’s one of my favorite early proofs that this kid was not to be trifled with from 2010.
