What Lies Beneath: That Noble Fury On Ludlow. A Sweaty, Rocking Time.

TNF4I don’t make it down to Ludlow as often as I used to anymore. I hadn’t found myself in a sweaty basement full of hard-working, hard-drinkings in a while. The allure of DJs and all of that right? A very good friend, a very old friend was performing, and I couldn’t miss it. To the point, he had given me the privilege of being my very first interview. It was a rare full band appearance, so I took my place at the bar, sipping a vintage Miller Light for effect. Continue reading

Mix Of The Weekend: The Massive Set Monoverse Dropped At Pacha.

Monoverse LIVE At Pacha, New York (11-08-14)I am delighted to bring you a fantastic local trance sensation Monoverse for this week’s mix. The driving after-hours trance set is definitely a standout after the night of epic sets that Pacha hosted last weekend. With tracks from arty, Bart Claessen, Ummet Ozcan, John O’Callaghan, Sander Van Doorn and Above & Beyond, this was a set that rewarded everyone who managed to hang around after Cosmic Gate blew the roof off of the mainstage. If you missed it, or you where somewhere else, here’s your chance to get back into it. Show Monoverse some love here & here as well, in thanks for the dope set. I’m a trancehead at heart, and when NYC locals are able to get that perfect sound, it’s a special treat.

Sankeys comes to NYC! The British Are Coming!

It’s a good time to club in NYC. Sankeys, the shuttered venue in Manchester will be in Manhattan by Halloween. After 3 seasons in Ibiza, they’re crossing the pond. The new spot will be opening on 29 West 36th Street, right around Bryant Park & Herald Square, smack in the middle of midtown. There’s going to be some amazing sound and lights that are detailed on the site and press release for the tech-heads. The Halloween debut will feature Reboot, No Regular Play & My Favorite Robot. Slow Hands, the uncomparable DJ Sneak, Tanner Ross & Fur Coat (all the way from Venezuela) will round out the first weekend. The more big names the better. With the departure of District 36, Midtown is lacking a flagship spot and I know Sankeys will be chomping at the bit to show us Gothamites how Manchester does a proper party.
