Tristram is a cool new artist on Monstercat, one of the most agile & aware labels on the internet these days. Excuse the badly transcribed lyrics and look at the warrior standing tall with one hell of a sword. Stand tall my people. You got this and in case you’re not sure, check out the tune below for some inspirational bass.

Midnight Music: DJ Erb’s Sweet Daft Punk Mashup With Tupac & David Bowie!
Tonight, I’ve got a fun little mashup from a DJ I’ve been listening to since I was in college. DJ Erb’s stupendous talent at mixing classic/modern hip hop with funk, classical & even Ohio Buckeye fight songs definitely needs a lot more exposure and I’m glad to signal boost for the guy who thought mixing Hans Zimmer & Lil Jon was a good idea. Because, as he proves below, it totally is. Get at both tracks and see what I’m talking about.
George Clinton And Parliament Funkadelic To Record Direct-to-Vinyl Live LP & Teach Funk Master Class
The God of Funk & his Pantheon, Parliament Funkadelic blew minds when they announced their latest creative gambit. At Metropolis, one of the sacred spaces in recording/production, George Clinton will be recording a “super limited edition album” direct to vinyl for a very select group of mega-fans. Metropolis in the UK is one of the only studios in the world equipped to do this, and if you’re into it, you can not only attend recording sessions, but also a master class by Clinton himself, The Vinyl Factory reports. This is probably going to raise the general funk quotient of the planet by an order of magnitude or two, so hit up PledgeMusic if you’re interested in attending. As, 150 sterling for a class with the p-funk impresario himself is a freaking steal.
Tool Touring In 2014!
The masters of Fibonacci-rock themselves, Tool, have declared 2014 to be one of the years when they actually venture out into the world. Consequence of Sound reports that Tool is throwing together an extremely limited tour that only hits the West Coast & Mexico. While we’re all waiting for Maynard to get off his keister and start whipping the rest of the band for generating a new album, this will have to do. I’ll pretend this doesn’t make me want to move to Portland, though, the ever-rising population of radioactive hipsters does make a compelling argument to wait 😀 (via Consequence of Sound)
Tool 2014 Tour Dates:
03/04 – Spokane, WA @ Spokane Arena
03/06 – Portland, OR @ Moda Center
03/07 – Eugene, OR @ Matthew Knight Arena
03/09 – Reno, NV @ Reno Event Center
03/11 – San Francisco, CA @ Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
03/18 – Mexico City, MX @ Palacio De Los Deportes
03/21 – Veracruz, MX @ Festival Cumbre Tajin 2014

Midnight Music (Mix!): Footwork Jungle Presents Strange Future
To round out your weekend, I’ve got more than 45min of some glorious jungle’y footwork for you. Footwork is a Chigago-spawned genre that has in turn, spawned an entirely new dance craze in the Windy City. Add some delicious old-school jungle to the sound, and there’s a lot of UK + Chicago fast/slow action going on here. The mix is definitely good for both headphones and for jumping around, in case you’ve got a Sunday night Dance Party going down. I got this from one of my super awesome DJ friends, TygerLily, who if you haven’t, you need to check out. She’s wonderful and I have all of the good feelings for her and her amazing taste. Do it up here & see y’all in a few hours 😀

What’s The Story Morning Glory? 6 AM Dance Parties In The UK!
HuffPo Lifestyle UK reports that the UK has started having sober, 6 AM parties. Free coffee and massage will be provided, but do NOT show up from a night of raging. This is apparently for all of the people who seem to need to shake thier moneymaker before heading into the office. What do you think? Would you be down to get in an hour or two of booty shaking on a Wednesday morning? Apparently they have smoothies so I might be able to be convinced, depending on the genre of music of course. Hit up the page and hit up the comments if you can’t imagine dragging your sorry ass to a dance floor before 11 PM.

Pussy Riot in Brooklyn. February 5th. I’m not sure why you’re still reading. It’s certainly going to be a better show than Sochi. Real “been to jail for it” punk? Get out there and do you ancestors proud.
Ten Questions With Terry Gotham: The Festival Lawyer
1. How did you go from regular law to festival & drug law?
I actually have a “real job”  as a law partner in my own criminal defense firm. It’s super satisfying and busy enough that I don’t have any need to use “The Festival Lawyer” to market for new clients.  I  write under “The Festival Lawyer” name in part because  I want people to understand that  I’m not their  lawyer and not trying to represent them.  I just really like music and festivals and believe that if I can  pass on some of the things that I know,  that it might make everyone feel a little safer and more empowered. The basic Festival Lawyer message is  that we can make festivals (and everywhere else, actually) better through Education, Empowerment and  Positivity.Â
