Drum & Bass + Insane Racing Game Footage

I had forgotten this existed and now I’m astonished I didn’t remember. Car gaming going insanely fast, looping the loop repeatedly in every direction. I thought to myself, I’d play the shit out of this game. Smooth track, tight controls, ridiculous car details, what’s up. Not only does it exist, but the trailer for it is absolute madness.200 person maps?! There’s a Twitch stream, so now this just needs to get all escher style & crazy in map design and we’re good to go. Shout out to Sarah Burgess & Goku for the ill track, which if you wanted separate from the automobiles, here it is for your aural pleasure. (via r/oddlysatisfying)

Psy & Snoop Dogg Get Wasted.

I’m not really sure how an idea like this gets storyboarded. “Ok, Snoop, we’re gonna need you to get real drunk with Psy.” And then they just put cameras on them? Where did the skipping come from? Also, the beer goggles within karaoke is nice. Expect this to get shared a bunch of times but not to go mega viral like Gangnam Style. They can’t all be winners, but this is amusing enough.

Midnight Music: Summmmer Playlist By Samantha Irby

So, I don’t usually post about things involving either writers or Spotify, but I’ve gotta make an exception for this. Her piece on clubbing when not 12 in Chicago is a triumph. My absolute favorite user of words on the internet put out a Summer playlist to match her new blog post. I’d probably figure out something to say about it even if it was shit, just to get y’all to go read her hilariousness, but frankly, the playlist is solid. The Rapture, David Lynch, J Dilla, DJ Jazzy Jeff  (fuck yea), Wailers Marley, Mount Kimbie and SOHN are joined by a bunch of heads I’m not familiar with, so I’ve been putting them in the face since I started reading the article, and haven’t been disappointed. There’s not a stitch of EDM or wack, Heineken-infused brostep here because, in case you can’t tell after reading a paragraph, she’s the exact opposite of basic. Put it into your face when you go drink champagne in the park wearing Aviator sunglasses with your friends that one time this summer. (Photo from the blog post. If you like it, hit up the book here

An Epic Metal Tribute To Video Game Music.

I don’t toss around either the word “Epic” or “Metal” lightly, but I’ve gotta say, this is kind of amazingly both. Clocking it at over 17min, this Mass-based musician has been making the rounds on Kotaku and Dorkly while making a solid run for YouTube aristocracy. I think this video has a chance to get him there. It’s less than a week old and I’ve not seen it shared yet. Trust me, the covers of grossly relevant video games, done impeccably & brutally at times, will keep your attention.  Especially when he switches guitars and does other crazy tricks. Watch it, you’ll see, and if you don’t think both metal & vgmusic are related to the dance floor, then you’ve got a lot to learn about the histories of both 😀

Zachary Levi, Mashable Video & Bert (Yes, That One) Remind You To Go Outside.

This is wonderful. Grover, Kal Penn, Bert, and Zachary Levi come together to get your ass out of the house. “Subscriptions to those clouds are free” is one of the best lines I’ve heard in a bit. While it took Pigeons to get Bert out of his house, now that it’s finally nice in the city, go out. I don’t know, go check Instagram on the Highline or something.
