This 13min teaser mix showed up on the UKF YouTube channel today. The quick, neat delightful compilation pulls tracks from Kove, Nero, Feed Me, Buku & a ton more. The mixing is top notch, with the tunes fired out as fast as you’d expect from UKF DJs. This reminder of the vast quality that the label puts out on a regular basis is nice, to the point and available everywhere. The 2 discs have insane amounts of quality, with tracks from Galantis, Pegboard Nerds, Fred V & Graffix, Netsky, Dimension, Noisia & that sweet London Grammar remix by ANDY C. More obscure Burial! I keep my promise that whenever I find anything Burial related that probably never saw release, you’d see it here. His signature mash of ambient sounds, maudlin garage beats & echoic vocal samples comes through once again. I’m not even sure when this was done, or if it’s officially been avowed as a Burial feature, but the internet says it was, and it kinda sounds like him, so it’s good enough for me! Burial will always sound like the first walk home from the ex’s house after you’ve been broken up with, especially if it’s raining after she did. And, even in this obscure feature, he managed to. It could just be something a fan recorded off of a dj set or a podcast, or an original dubplate, as is reported where I found it. This is vintage Burial, that mix of UK garage, being dumped by your ex , dubstep and soft hip hop beats.

I’ve been listening to Jaya Prime for years, and if you don’t believe me, go listen to his Dreamstep mix. He’s thrown together an hour of tracks you won’t find anywhere else, and after listening to it, you’ll be mad about that. Inventive, cutting-edge production from Dirtwire, Nick Leon, FUME, Phutureprimitive, JacM, Bluereso, K.Sabroso & more. Seriously. This list isn’t for you weekend warriors, but if you want to hear where some of the sounds you’re hearing at clubs or festivals are going, check this out. And give Jaya Prime all the love, as this guy eats big room for breakfast.

I’m so glad there’s more Seven Lions, and that he’s obviously been training for this moment. If you haven’t heard of this guy before, educate yourself. Right freaking now.
Midnight Mix! Luvstep V By Dirty South Joe & Flufftronix
I’m going to try and make an honest effort to push at least one mix out into the universe from my various repositories/basins of tunes, because sometimes people want a bit more than one track at a time. So, I’m happy to inaugurate this attempt with the 5th & newly expanded edition of the series I’ve been a fan of since its inception (if you’re a fan of the series you know why that’s a terrible joke). The combination of hip hop, movie vocals, chillstep, drum & bass, UK garage, lovetrap r&b and whatever else they want to throw in there makes for a wonderful & romantic two hours. Listen to it with someone you’re sweet on.
Midnight Music: Arkasia’s Epic Orchestral Dubstep Masterpiece “Pandemonium”
Arkasia is one of the better discoveries of my Winter 2012. There’s an astonishing quality when it comes to the sounds chosen & built for these tracks. It’s all too intense at a lot of moments in life, and I find sometimes, that can be captured competently by the right artist. It’s a rare quality that emerges when the producer knows their medium exceptionally well. Check out “The Awakening” below, for more. The orchestral but triumphant feel of the massive bass is a sound not often attempted and even more rarely achieved.
