Cat Stevens, now known as Yusuf Islam is a singer-songwriter who converted to Islam in the late 70’s and dedicated himself to philanthropic & educational efforts throughout the Muslim world. He’s being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year, so get at him for Catch Bull at Four & Tea for the Tilleman. Amazing, truly American sound.

Midnight Music: GQMF ft. Sarah Jane – Never Gonna Let You Fall (On Bombeatz Music)
I think I’m going to start making a habit of posting intensely positive music on Monday nights. Because Mondays. Sarah Jane sings the hell out of it over some synthy, dreamy electrochip (sure, what the hell, that’s a genre-now). The use of the VG effects would seem an amateur move by most, but it works incredibly well with the tone and attitude of the song. Sarah Jane adds some fantastic, poppy, floaty vocal work with some fun lyrics that will get you to smile, even while you’re complaining the tune might be a bit sweeter than others.
10 Facts About Berghain, Berlin’s Legendary Techno Club (Warning: Beatport Article Hilariously NSFW)
Beatport took a quick look at the club everyone splooshes about at Resolute & Blackmarket parties here in NYC. The space, notorious for you just straight up not being able to get in, with its very own Techno Vampire bouncer (below, yes, seriously, that’s him, and no, seriously, he won’t let you in), is considered one of the best clubs on the planet, especially if you’re a. a fan of techno or b. gay. Beatport explains more, just don’t open it on a monitored computer. Please.
Mamoru Samuragochi Admits Two Decades Of Fraud, Didn’t Compose Music From Resident Evil Or Onimusha

The guy responsible for a TIME magazine story calling him a “digital-age Beethoven” admitted he’d not composed the last 20 years of the music attributed to him and may not even be deaf. The now-outed artist was largely celebrated in Japan, having been awarded a citizens award by the mayor of Hiroshima for his Symphony that became a best selling album. The award has now been retracted & Nippon Columbia has since stopped distribution of his work.
Well, there you have it folks, don’t cheat. Make your own stuff and always give credit where credit is due. He was asked to provide music for the Sochi Olympics and it seem it’s all been made up this whole damn time. (via FACT & NPR)
Midnight Music: Tank! Bootleg by JustDan
Tonight, I’m super proud to signal boost a pretty damn good offering from a sick rising DJ in Philly. This random Cowboy Bebop bootleg is a great freshman offering from the producer. The transition into synthy goodness at two minutes can only be described as tantalizing. I can’t wait to see where he goes with this stuff this year, and if you want more JustDan goodness, check the mix below. The blend of fidget, soul, R&B, jazzy hip hoppy goodness, house and a dash of disco should satisfy. Watch out for the Hey Arnold sample 🙂
Why “Man” Is Used The Way It’s Used.
This kinda speaks for itself huh? (via Traditional Hard Robots)
“If your heart is broken, make art with the pieces.” ~Shane Koyczan
This guy has done some breathtaking poetry (prominent one featured below) and as we roll into the week of cheesy V-Day malaise/capitalism, I wanted to remember that blue periods can be valuable for us all. Don’t stop creating and check him out here!

Midnight Mix: NO.SLEEP – Mix.01
If you’re looking for quality, chilled beats with a dash of ethereal and cloudy production values, I cannot recommend Odesza enough. The EP I listed is a great proof of their original work, but they’ve also started doing a great podcast featuring random hotness, linked above. Check em both out, and if you’re struggling for something to do on Valentine’s Day  hit up the show at Best Buy Theater where they’re opening for Emanicpator and you can hit up surprisingly cheap tickets here.
Deadmau5 Turns His Car Into The Most Expensive Nyan Cat Tribute In The World.
Just when you thought Holden Caulfield…I mean, erm, deadmau5, could get any wackier, EDMTunes reports (with pictures) on the hilarious paint job deadmau5 gave his ride. I wish his Coffee Run series had an external GoPro to record the reactions of people on the street or in cars driving by. For the lulz of course. (via Liz Kate of EDMTunes)
